Perseverance Rover begins to search for alien life on Mars

Nearly a year after launching from the earth, NASA’s Perseverance Mars 2020 rover began to search for extraterrestrial life on the red planet, using the latest technology equipped with the probe to send data including images to NASA. The best analysis of the composition of Martian dust, even from the beginning of the test. The six-wheel Mars rover is currently located in a rough fractured area at the bottom of Jezero Crater. According to scientists, billions of years ago, this crater was a lake that later dried up. The rover is now crawling on the cracked red earth, looking for samples to explore.

Abigail Allwood, an astrobiologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said, “If there is life in the Jezero Crater, then there may be signs of life in there.” PIXL is a planetary X-ray rock chemistry instrument that will be used by the Mars rover to analyze Martian soil samples.

In addition to PIXL, the off-road vehicle also uses two other technologies: SHERLOC and WATSON. SHERLOC, Scanning Habitable Environments with Raman & Luminescence for Organics & Chemicals, uses ultraviolet lasers to identify minerals in Martian rocks, while the WATSON camera or wide-angle topographic sensor used for operation and eNgineering takes close-up images, and scientists can further analyze them to determine their roundness, texture and particle size. PIXL Assistant use X-rays to show the chemical composition of rocks. By combining all their skills, they form a reliable detective team.

The first WATSON image has provided a treasure trove of data. Based on the data obtained, the scientists discovered that, among other things, there is “cement” on Mars. Scientists believe that more geological knowledge will tell us how this planet formed. In addition, they are essential for determining the potential of alien life. The Perseverance Voyage depicts the geological and climatic characteristics of Mars and seeks to find evidence of alien life that might have existed in the past or present. This is one of the main goals of the mission that Perseverance Rover was sent for and paves the way for future human exploration of the world.
