Tiger shot dead after attacking a worker in Florida

At the Naples Zoo in Florida, a Malayan tiger named Eko was shot after he attacked a worker on his arm. The incident took place on Wednesday evening. Tiger was shot dead by a policeman.

The injured man crossed the fencing of the enclosure and put his hand inside. The tiger grabbed his hand and pulled the man inside the restricted area.

Tiger incident before he was shot dead:

The authorities asserted that the third party of cleaning service employed the worker, and he was a cleaner. On the other hand, the man was petting or feeding the animal by which he was in that unauthorized area.

According to the information provided by the Collier Country officer, around 6:30 pm, the zoo was closed, and they saw that the worker’s arm was in Eko’s mouth. The police was then immediately informed by the zoo authorities.

Furthermore, Country Officer stated, “During the situation, the second in command was there on the location he tried to control the tiger so that he can leave that man’s arm, but the animal didn’t so the deputy offers to shoot him.”

However, the tiger was dead after the Zoo officials called the veterinarian to scrutinize him. The age of the tiger is not yet confirmed, although some sources say it is of 4-year-old and other stated 8-year-old. Despite that, this is highly detrimental to deal with such animals as the people were scared. This incident has stunned everyone.

The man was 20-year-old, and he was brutally injured, so they took him to the Lee Memorial Hospital immediately. The injured man was not supposed to be in that area as his work was to clean the restrooms and gift shops.

In December 2019, Eko the tiger came to the Naples Zoo. Moreover, the zoo is the home of 70 diverse species. It is a 43-acre zoo with a herbaceous garden.
