Court orders to fly a COVID-19 patient from Minnesota to Texas, died later

The patient infected with the Coronavirus infection was flown from Minnesota to Texas as per the decision made by the court to give transfer him to another hospital in Texas. Has died as his ventilator went off on Saturday, according to the information provided by the family’s attorney.

In Minnesota, a 55-year-old COVID-19 infected person named Scott Quiner was flown to Texas as he was on the ventilator. This was the thing that was keeping him alive, and the court of Minnesota further decided not to give him more ventilator support.

Quiner was admitted to the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids in Minnesota on Nov. 6 2021, as he was suffering from severe low oxygen levels.

On Jan. 13, a judge from Minnesota has issued an order about the Mercy Hospital who has stopped the ventilator machine that was helping the patient stay alive as it was the only reason that was keeping Mr Quiner alive.

Moreover, Quiner’s family has instituted legal proceedings against the Coon Rapids health care facility. Meanwhile, they took Qunier to the hospital in Texas.

The family lawyer, Marjorie Holsten, has mentioned, “By this incident, we’re completely damaged.”

Scott Quiner was un-vaccinated and has been admitted to Mercy Hospital’s intensive care unit.

The judge in Minnesota named Jennifer Stanfield made the request against the Quiner family to maintain the patient on the ventilator as well as she has set their date of hearing with the court on Feb. 11.

As per the information provided by the family, Quiner did not receive the proper care at Mercy Hospital. The family lawyer Holsten mentioned that the doctor also noticed that the patient didn’t get the appropriate treatment, “He was the malnourished patient and hadn’t get the insufficient food or other substances for good health and condition he has ever noticed.”

Apart from this, the family has not yet decided if they will further take strict action against the hospital authorities.
