Due to shortage of staff, Two schools in Seattle discontinues classes for students

On Monday, Franklin High School and Kimball Elementary School have cancelled classes in Seattle due to the shortage of school staff. As per the information provided, the public schools are finding out heavy to start virtual education again.

Seattle public schools mentioned in a statement, “Currently, the school officials are working on this to start some classes face to face, and the remaining one will be working as remote learning. This depends on the maximum number of staff present at the moment.”

The officials have confirmed that only two schools were closed due to insufficient staff members.

The representative of the Schools, Tim Robinson, said, if it is required to start distance learning, the schools are all set for this condition. Moreover, they will provide laptops and tablets to every child, which will be imperative for virtual understanding. The district included wi-fi connections.

The school’s website has issued a statement that the Lake Washington High School has started the virtual knowledge for a short period in Kirkland. The soar in the cases of the new variant of COVID-19 Omicron has made lack in the education employees as they are getting affected by the infection.

The students of the Lake Washington are learning unaided from home, and on the other hand, the school authorities have decided to start the online education with a particular instructor. From 16th January, the youngsters will form the face to face learning.

The administrators of the Lake Washington stated, “To be precise, this is not a case where the health department has ordered a closure due to an outbreak on-campus. Our district has made this decision due to our inability to operate the school safely as a result of so many staff being absent and the number of unfilled sub positions.”

The administrators mentioned that the lack of teaching staff had made the officials share the teaching material with the children for learning from home.
