Texas: Woman arrested over trying to purchase a child for $500,000 in Walmart

While standing in the queue in Texas, a Crockett woman asked another woman to purchase her one-year-old child in exchange for $500,000 during self-checkout. As per the information provided by the police officials, in the previous week, a 49-year-old woman named Rebecca Lanette Taylor was under arrest for making such an offer (sale and purchase of a child).

Moreover, the police department of Crockett demonstrated that on January 13, there was an office assigned for patrol that got a call on 911 from a woman. She said she carried her baby boy on the car seat in the shopping cart in the checkout session at Walmart, Crockett.

As per the information provided, when Taylor saw that baby, who has blonde hair and blue eyes, she raised the question to the child’s mother about how much she could buy that baby.

The baby’s mother thought she was kidding. She tried to laugh, but further, Taylor mentioned purchasing the baby for $250,000 as she has this much money in her car, but the child’s mother said no amount of money would do that.

Meanwhile, the one-year-old child’s mother told that lady to stay away from her son.

Taylor was with another woman, the other one was asking the boy’s name, but she denied to response as she was not feeling comfortable at that time as the Crockett woman said, “I was looking for a baby for such a long time, and this baby is perfect for her.”

However, both the women knew the child’s name, so they started to call that boy by his name.

When the boy and her mother went to the parking lot, Taylor shouted that if she did not give her baby in $250,000 much money, she would offer double amount($500,000) of this because she wanted to take the toddler home.

Afterwards, Taylor was in the black SUV, and he kept screaming that she would pay $500,000 in cash for that baby, but after some time, she left.

The police checked the footage of that woman in all the surrounded cameras of that area.

According to the sources, if Taylor is declared guilty, she will be behind bars for a minimum of two years and a maximum of 10 years under the Texas Penal Code and will also pay around $10,000 as a penalty.
