Florida boy fell from giant free-fall ride in amusement park, died

In Florida, the USA, a 14-year-old boy named Tyre Sampson fell from a giant free-fall amusement park ride and has been died, and now his family members are looking for the answers.

As per the information shared by the sources, the Sheriff’s officials and the emergency crews have answered the call related to the incident, and the officials mentioned that the ride was opened in the previous year at the Icon Park in the city’s International Drive.

Moreover, the state officials, as well as the amusement ride company, are working on the case, investigating how the 14-year-old fell from the ride that was around 430-feet high, taller than the Statue of Liberty, and it is created in the heart of Orlando’s tourist district.

The Orange County Sheriff named John Mina mentioned, On Friday, the officials got the information that Tyre Sampson was with his friend’s family. They were visiting central Florida from Missouri. The detectives are looking into the incident, whether it was intentional or accidental.

Along with this, Mina mentioned in a statement that “It appears to be just a terrible tragedy. We will see moving forward what that results in.”

Afterward, the boy was taken to the health care center for treatment but was declared dead, says the officials. There was no additional information related to the teen or the incident that was released at the moment.

There was a video circulated on Friday morning in which it was highlighted that the passengers on the ride were discussing the issues with a seat restraint on Thursday night. The ride then started its trek up the tower before anyone observed fall from the ride.

Meanwhile, the sales director with the Slingshot Group, which owns the ride named John Stine, mentioned, “We are absolutely saddened and devastated by what happened, and our hearts go out this young man’s family.”

Stine stated, “We are cooperating with all other investigations at this time to get to the bottom of what happened.”

According to the report that has been issued by the state agency, the ride had its initial permit inspection on December 20, 2021, as well as no issues was discovered. The following semi-annual review for the ride was not due for several months.

The report mentioned, “The ride will be closed for the foreseeable future and will not re-open until all questions are answered as part of the ongoing FDACS investigation.”
