United States advises citizens against non-essential trips to EU

In the European Union/European Economic Area, there are several nations considering relaxing the ongoing restrictions on COVID-19. The United States Department of State continues to advise everyone against taking non-important trips.

The travel advisories of the United States get updates every week, but the authorities have not made the changes regarding the EU/EEA nations.

As per the data shared by the US Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), all of the EU/EEA nations, including the well-known destination such as Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, and Greece.

Currently, they have the “Level Four: Do Not Travel.”

Along with this, some of the nations were included in the list at the beginning of 2021. Others have been added later during the year.

As per the list:-

  • Austria (added on October 2021)
  • Belgium (added on November 2021)
  • Bulgaria (added on September 2021)
  • Croatia (added on October 2021)
  • Cyprus (added on December 2021)
  • Czech Republic (added on November 2021)
  • Denmark (added on November 2021)
  • Estonia (added on August 2021)
  • Finland (added on December 2021)
  • France (added on December 2021)
  • Germany (added on November 2021)
  • Greece (added on August 2021)
  • Hungary (added on November 2021)
  • Iceland (added on November 2021)
  • Ireland (added on August 2021)
  • Italy (added on December 2021)
  • Latvia (added on October 2021)
  • Lithuania (added on September 2021)
  • Luxembourg (added on November 2021)
  • Malta (added on December 2021)
  • Netherlands (added on November 2021)
  • Norway (added on September 2021)
  • Poland (added on November 2021)
  • Portugal (added on December 2021)
  • Romania (added on January 2022)
  • Slovakia (added on November 2021)

Moreover, level four is the highest advisory level as it means that unvaccinated and unrecovered travellers are being advised against taking non-essential.

The advice is not as strongly applied to those who have already completed their vaccination process and those who have recovered from the COVID-19 infection.

In the United States, has given the advice to its residents against taking the trips, the European Union is doing the opposite.

Meanwhile, various EU/EEA nations have already removed their COVID-19 travel rules and regulations and now allow entry to all individuals regardless of their vaccination status or their country of origin.
