United States: Â The United States’ vice president, Kamala Harris, has hosted a virtual meeting in which 15 leaders of the government of the Caribbean Community(CARICOM) took part. The meeting took place on Friday, April 29, 2022.Â
The discussion aimed at the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, security cooperation along with climate resilience, as well as energy security.Â
As a neighbor in the Western Hemisphere, the United States shares a common bond with the nations of the Caribbean. This afternoon I convened leaders of the Caribbean to strengthen our partnership around economic recovery, security, climate and energy.

Moreover, several Caribbean nations, including St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis, as well as Trinidad and Tobago, were part of the virtual meeting that was hosted by Kamala Harris and all of the critical areas of concern were discussed.
Along with this, the leaders who have participated were Prime Minister Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Keith Rowley, as well as Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris.Â

The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, shared the information on his Twitter account, “This evening, I am attending a US-Caribbean Leaders Meeting hosted by the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.”
