New Jersey estranged man kills his wife: Police

United States: A 48-year-old has stabbed his wife (44-year-old) to death in a Lodi home, in New Jersey, on Thursday night, according to the authorities. 

The 48-year-old Joel Cinco has been charged with murder, burglary and weapons offences following the death of Janet Cinco, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated on Friday. 

Janet Cinco was discovered with stab injuries when the police officials were called to a house in the 200 block of Westervelt Place at around 9:30 p.m. Moreover, she was transported to Hackensack University Medical Centre, where she was brought dead.

Joel Cinco was taken into custody and sent to the Bergen County jail ahead of the first appearance in court. 

Along with this, in December 2020, a Carlstadt police officer apprehended the 48-year-old and charged him with terroristic threats, criminal restraint, harassment and weapons offences.

 Joel Cinco was charged with the first-degree murder on Thursday, as per to Bergen County jail records. 

In addition, the neighbors mentioned that the Cincos lived in an upstairs apartment of a house in the 200 block of Westervelt Place with their children. 

As per to the jail records, Joel Cinco had been detained on multiple charges, including third-degree aggravated assault, as well as violating a restraining order in April 2021. 

Furthermore, he ended up pleading guilty to unlawful weapon possession charges and received five years’ probation in February 2022.

Two of the neighbors who live all over the street from home stated that there had never been any violent crime in the area before on Thursday night, in New Jersey. 

Meanwhile, in the month of March, a Paterson man has died in a shooting at an apartment complex on Victor Street in Lodi. 

Before that, the most recent killing in Lodi was in May 2021, when men have died outside the Satin Dolls nightclub.
