United States: The Police officials in Charlotte, North Carolina, mentioned that a 1-year-old child was shot to death during a shooting on Saturday night.
At about 8 p.m., the police officials received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon and responded to an apartment building, as per the sources.
When the local law enforcement reached at the scene, they found a one-year-old and a 7-year-old child got injured from the gunshot. After they were transported to the nearby hospital, the 1-year-old was pronounced dead, according to the reports.
Meanwhile, the other kid was noted to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident that occured is still being investigated by the police official, who is having a conversation with the people to contact them with any details.
As per the latest data from the Gun Violence Archive, 806 children and teenagers have been killed by gunfire so far this year. Additionally, over 2,000 have been injured because of the guns.
Moreover, at the same weekend, another shooting took place, in which the police in Chicago mentioned that a five-month-old baby girl was sitting in a car was shot in the head as well as killed after someone in a nearby vehicle opened fire.
Along with the girl, a 41-year-old man was also injured and suffered a “Gunshot wound to the eye area” but was initially reported to be in a better condition.
