Mexico: Two actors working in the Netflix series “The Chosen One” were killed and six other cast or crew members were injured after the van they were riding in crashed near Mulega on the Baja California Sur peninsula.
The local media reported the crash that took place on Thursday, and said the van flipped after running off the road in a desert area. The crew had apparently been working in the nearby Santa Rosalia area at the time.
Both the two actors has been identified as Juan Francisco González Aguilar, known professionally as Paco Mufote, and Raymundo Garduño Cruz, the Baja California Ministry of Culture mentioned on Twitter.
Moreover, the Baja California Department of Culture mentioned on Friday that Raymundo Garduño Cruz and Juan Francisco González Aguilar died.
Netflix explains The Chosen One as, “A 12-year-old boy learns he’s the returned Jesus Christ, destined to save humankind. Based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Peter Gross.”
As per the casting calls, the series is being taped by an independent production company.
Netflix mentioned on Saturday that they do not have any information to share and comment related to the incident.
