United States: In Chicago, the authorities noticed multiple incidents of shootouts in the death of five individuals and 16 others were injured on Saturday, while the government is discussing strict measures against gun violence.
About five people have been killed, and another 16 have been injured in shootings all over the city of Chicago so far this weekend, as per the police officials.
In the incident, a woman, 37-year-old, was shot to death at about 12:19 am on Saturday in the 0-100 block of South Albany, says the authorities.
Moreover, the woman was travelling in a vehicle when unknown offenders fired shots before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim suffered multiple gunshot injuries to the head and body and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead, according to the police officials.
At about 2:27 am Saturday, a 34-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the 2800 block of southern Indiana. The victim got multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Centre in critical condition. According to the sources, he was later pronounced dead because of his injuries.
In most of the deadly shootings, a 23-year-old man was killed and three others wounded. At about 3:20 pm Saturday in the 8600 block of South Damen.
Four men were in an alley when an unknown vehicle drove by, and a person inside the car produced a gun and fired shots, as per the authorities. The 23-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot injuries and died at Advocate Christ Medical Medical Centre.
Furthermore, a 39-year-old man was shot in the leg and listed in good condition. An additional victim, 24 years old, was shot in the left leg and foot and was also reported to be in good condition. The fourth victim, a 42-year-old man, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transported to the hospital in fair condition, police stated.
