Coyote attacks a two-year-old girl in park in California

United States: In Southern California, a two-year-old girl was attacked by a coyote at a park on Thursday, according to the police officials.

The girl was attacked at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley at about 8:30 p.m., as per the Fountain Valley Police Department.

The incident that took place was not immediately reported to the authorities, and the coyote was not immediately located.

Moreover, the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW) and currently the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) are in the area working to euthanize the coyote, says the police officials.

The cops mentioned in the statement, “The community is encouraged to continue to haze coyotes and keep small children and pets under close supervision.”

Along with this, Coyotes, also known as Canis Latrans, are found in the majority of the parts of California. The California Department of Fish & Game estimates a population range of 250,000 to 750,000 people.

Furthermore, Coyotes are very adaptable and inhabit most areas of the state, except for the centres of major metropolitan areas.

Coyotes live in both the deserts as well as mountains of California and only gather into packs to hunt for larger animals, including hoofed ruminant mammals.

They tend to stay away from the region that surrounds the city, but lack of habitat as well as human interaction has caused them to appear more often.
