United States: A two-year-old boy fatally shot his father in an accident after finding a gun in Florida. As per the authorities, now the boy’s mother is facing criminal charges.

The authorities said on Monday, that the 26-year-old, Reggie Mabry, was fatally shot late last month while he was playing on a video game.

Moreover, the gun was fired by his two-year-old son in the home Mabry, his wife Marie Ayala, as well as his three young children, shared in metro Orlando, as per to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office report.

In the statement, Orange County Sheriff John Mina mentioned, “The gun was not properly kept. In fact, it was easily available, even to a 2-year-old, & the result is a tragedy that no one in this community can really understand.”

Ayala, 28-year-old, was charged with killing by culpable ignorance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, control of ammunition by a convicted felon, as well as violation of probation, Mina stated.

Ayala and Mabry, both had been on probation for child neglect and narcotics possession.

Along with this, Ayala has stayed in jail on no bond Monday, according to an online jail record. Online court records revealed she was being represented by the public defender’s office but no other details were provided.

The arrest report said that Ayala informed detectives that her 5-year-old son had disclosed to her that his 2-year-old brother had fired the gunshot, but the older brother couldn’t describe how his younger brother had got hold of the weapon.

In addition, the children weren’t harmed & have been placed in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

The tragedy could have been stopped if the gun had been properly kept, the sheriff said.

“Now these young children have effectively lost both of their parents,” Mina highlighted.

Furthermore, “And a young child has to live his life knowing he shot his father.”
