New Jersey reports over 2,736 fresh COVID-19 cases: Reports

United States: 2,736 of the COVID-19 confirmed cases have been reported in New Jersey, and four deaths have also been confirmed on Sunday.

The state’s seven-day average for the confirmed cases was 2,835 on Sunday, which has been decreased by 24 percent from a week ago but still up 19 percent from a month ago.

The Governor of New Jersey, Phill Murphy, mentioned that new cases appeared to be “Leveling off” from the recent increase, but the state’s positivity rate was still “Too high.” The positivity rate for tests conducted on Tuesday, the most recent day with available data, was 10.60 percent.

Moreover, the state-wide rate of transmission for Sunday was 0.88. When the transmission rate is below one, that means new cases are decreasing.

There were 820 patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases reported all over 68 of the state’s 71 hospitals as of Saturday night. Three health care centres did not report data.

The number of people that have been admitted had still remained significantly lower than when it peaked at 6,089 on January 10 during the omicron wave.

Of the people that have been admitted to the hospital, 100 were in the intensive care Centre, and 42 were ventilators. As per the state data, there were at about 217 individuals discharged in the 24hour period ending on Saturday.

Along with this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now list 13 New Jersey nations with “high” transmission rates, including Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Sussex and Warren.

According to the CDC, people in high-risk areas are recommended to wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation and stay-up-date on vaccinations.

Furthermore, about eight-nation are in the medium-risk category, Bergen, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Passaic, Somerset and Union. Masks are not recommended in the medium as well as low regions.
