United States: A woman in the United States set a man on fire in California. The video of the following incident went viral, according to police officials.
The 48-year-old Patricia Castillo poured the liquid over her victim with gasoline as he lay on the grass in the park in Sanger near Fresno just after 9 p.m. on Thursday, then set the man on the blaze, as per the cops in a Facebook post.
The Sanger Police Department mentioned in the statement, “The video indicates Castillo was approaching the victim as well as throwing a liquid from a cup onto [him], & she as well as the victim appear to argue before Castillo sparks a lighter & lights the victim on fire.”
Along with this, the man was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, as per the police.
Moreover, Castillo has been charged with attempted murder, arson and conspiracy, police stated.
The police officials released the surveillance footage.
Police mentioned that a second person, Leonard Hawkins, was also apprehended for allegedly giving the flammable liquid to Castillo. It is not evident at the moment what Hawkins was charged with.
The police have not mentioned if Castillo, as well as the victim, knew each other or what the motive was.
Furthermore, a spokesman for the Sanger Police Department highlighted on Sunday that the incident remains under investigation.
