Cleveland: Man accused for fatally killing his mother, grandmother; injuring brother

United States: A man is suspected of fatally killing his mother and grandmother on Sunday afternoon and gravely wounding his brother in Cleveland, Ohio, according to the Seven Hills police.

The 33-year-old Joseph Walter has been charged with aggravated murder in the fatal stabbings of his grandmother, Carol Jereb, 85, from Avon Lake near Cleveland, as well as his mother, Laurene Worthington, 62, of Seven Hills, as per the police, the office of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and Parma Municipal Court records.

There has been no disclosure of the circumstances behind the stabbings.

Police reported that Walter’s unnamed 35-year-old brother is now being treated at MetroHealth in critical but stable condition.

As per the authorities, the incident took place at Worthington’s house on East Pleasant Valley Road, close to Oakwood Drive, at about 1:30 in the afternoon.

Following a report of the stabbings, police arrived at the residence. Jereb and Worthington were discovered there, according to the authorities. According to a report from the call for assistance, Walter’s sibling was lying in the grass outside.

Jereb was transported to MetroHealth, where she succumbed to her wounds later. The medical examiner came across that she had been stabbed in the head and neck.

Along with this, Worthington was taken to the University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead by the doctors, says police officials.

She suffered stab injuries to her head as well as buttocks, as per the medical examiner.

Walter, of Seven Hills, is in the Cuyahoga County Jail as well as is scheduled for a bond hearing Wednesday, court records show.

Furthermore, the incident remains under investigation.
