United States: A Texas mother who was last seen heading to work about three weeks ago has been discovered dead inside her car in the mall parking lot, as per the authorities on Monday.
A security officer in San Antonio observed a “foul stench” emanating from the car parked outside the Huebner Oaks Center on Saturday night, which led to the discovery of Christina Lee Powell’s body.
The security officer noticed the black 2020 Nissan Rogue of the 39-year-old had been parked in the same location outside the mall for almost a week before approaching it, according to authorities.
The police officer mentioned in the statement, “He looked inside the vehicle and observed a body in the front passenger side seat and called 911.”
Along with this, the police highlighted that there was no apparent trauma to their body of Powell, but a medical examiner was carrying out an autopsy to determine her official cause of death.
The purse and ID were found inside the car and used to identify her, according to the cops positively.
Mother of Powel, Claudia Moble, shared the information of her death on Facebook, writing on Monday, “My beautiful daughter, Christina Powell, has been found deceased. I am heartbroken. Thank you all for your prayers.”
Powell has been missing since July 5 after she set off from her San Antonio home to head to her paralegal job, says her family at that time.
Around 10:30 a.m., she was seen hurriedly leaving the house on her doorbell surveillance camera, leaving her phone and Apple Watch behind.
The home’s other resident, Moble, said that her daughter had contacted her workplace to inform them that she would be arriving late.
According to Moble, when Powell didn’t show up at the workplace a few hours later, a coworker went to her house.
Soon after reporting Powell missing, Moble said, “I felt like she was going, I believed she was going to work— and I think she felt like she was going to work.”
She continued that Powell hadn’t said anything noteworthy to her mother before she left, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary.
