Unidentified man visiting Dallas likely to spread monkeypox after visiting gay bathhouse: Officials

United States: An outsider visiting Dallas likely to spread monkeypox as he visited a gay bathhouse, according to health officials.

According to the club’s website, the unidentified man visited Club Dallas, a private men’s sauna where patrons can “Enjoy a video in your private dressing room or socialize in one of our lounges” from June 22 through 25.

Moreover, the man was infectious at the time and had a confirmed monkeypox case, as per the Dallas Health Department.

At the time of his stay, the man had sex with multiple partners, the health department stated.

Monkeypox increases through contact with bodily fluids, monkeypox increases as well as shared clothing and bedding. It can also spread through respiratory droplets in close settings.

Along with this, Dallas health officials are warning anyone who has visited the Club Dallas that they may have been exposed to monkeypox as well as should be monitoring themselves for symptoms. Common symptoms before a rash appear to include fever, body aches and swollen lymph nodes.

Dallas County Health, as well as Human Services, mentioned in the statement, “Nationally, many monkeypox cases are occurring within sexual networks. (Those) at high risk for monkeypox virus exposure — including male who has sex with men, individuals who use social media applications to find intimacy partners, as well as those who have had skin-to-skin contact with individuals with sores or other symptoms of monkeypox virus— should be aware of their risk as well as looking for medical attention if they develop symptoms of monkeypox.”

Furthermore, the only four cases of then monkeypox that has been reported in Dallas County have been men who were physically intimate with other men and who travelled recently, according to the health department.
