West Virginia woman wakes up from years long coma after being attacked by her brother

United States: A West Virginia woman awoke from a years-long coma after being brutally attacked and identified her brother as the assailant, as per the authorities.

According to a Jackson County Sheriff Department statement, Wanda Palmer had been “Left for dead” and had been battered in her house in the month of June of 2020. She had since been placed in a long-term care facility in New Martinsville, West Virginia.

The brother of Wanda Palmer, Daniel Palmer, was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder as well as malicious wounding of his sister near Cottageville, says the sheriff.

Moreover, when Palmer was discovered, Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger stated she was so savagely attacked that authorities thought she was dead, as per the sources.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department shared the comment on this incident that took place.

According to the data, medical professionals informed the police that Palmer was able to talk enough to identify her attacker despite having brain damage from the assault.

Along with this, Mellinger mentioned, “The keys to the whole thing lay with the victim herself as well as with her not able to communicate, we were left with nothing. Now low & behold, two years later, & boom, she’s awake and able to tell us exactly what happened.”

“He did not give us any fight or anything. There was a bit of surprise, but not entirely,” Mellinger stated.

According to officials, Daniel Palmer reportedly used a machete or hatchet to assault his sister.

On grounds of attempted murder and malicious wounding, he was taken into custody.

Furthermore, it was not immediately clear if Daniel Palmer had retained an attorney.
