‘California to continue blazing a trail for America’, says Governor Newsom

United States: The power outages are affecting business in California, and the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, made the announcement that his radical plan of clean electricity targets 90 percent by 2035 and mentioned, “California will continue blazing a trail for America.”

Senator Brian Dahle shared the information through his official social media account, “Sure, if that means blazing a trail in the dark and without food.”

The electrical grid of California is not able to meet current energy demands all over the state, let alone charge millions of new electric cars. Without substantial investments and tangible results, California will never be able to meet its renewable energy goals.

He also mentioned in the statement, “When I’m governor, I will work to build reliable electricity infrastructure so renewable energy can reach customers.”

On the other hand, recently, the governor of California announced an aggressive new plan to tackle the state’s water shortage this week. The $8 billion strategy, which is detailed in a 16-page document, aims to reinforce California’s dwindling water supply.

Newsom mentioned last Thursday, during a visit to a desalination plant, “The science, as well as the data, leads to now understand that we will lose 10 per cent of our water supply by 2040. As a consequence of that deeper knowledge, we have a renewed sense of urgency to address this problem head-on.”

The title of the new plan has been titled “California’s Water Supply Strategy, adapting to a Hotter, Drier Future,” this highlights the methods to boost the levels of water as well as makeup for water loss which is caused by climate change.

The four main objectives mentioned are to make storage for million acre-feet of stormwater, recycle as well s reuse 800,000 acre-feet of wastewater every year by 2030, employ more efficient water conservation techniques to free up 500,000 acre-feet of water, as well as desalinate more seawater.
