Lady gaga speaks in support of LGBTQ and abortion rights at her concert

The pop music star, Lady Gaga, who is currently on the North America tour of her Chromatica Ball, took a moment out of the event to express her support for abortion rights and gay marriage during her concert in Washington, D.C., on Monday night, August 8, 2022.

Addressing more than 40,000 of her fans who were in attendance at the event, the Shallow singer told the audience, “I would like to dedicate this song to every woman in America. To every woman who has to worry about her body if she gets pregnant. I pray that this country will speak up, that we will stick together, and that we will not stop until it’s right! For every woman.”

At the end of the performance of her song “The edge of glory”, she added that although she didn’t mean to be a downer and ruin the experience, some things were more important than show business.

Her words were met with an uproar of applause and enthusiastic cheering, evident of the support of her audience.

The musical mega star’s response came after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Since then, nearly twenty-five (25) states of America have moved to enact laws banning citizens from safe access to abortion.

Further, the House of Gucci star dedicated her song “Born This Way” to the LGBTQ+ community during her concert.

At the end of her performance, she stated that “This (song) might not be the national anthem, but it’s our national anthem!” Further, she said, They better not try to mess with gay marriage in this country!” Gaga declared.

Gaga’s Chromatica Ball tour will continue in New York City till August 11, with nine more North American dates, after which the tour will move on to Tokyo for two shows.
