United States: Two Mercer County teens were apprehended as well as were charged early on Saturday morning for the vehicle break-in in Lawrence Township, as per the police officials.
The police officials detained Omari Cartwright, 18-year-old of Trenton, as well as a 17-year-old child at the time of an initiative to address ongoing vehicle break-ins that have been reported throughout Lawrence Township, according to the police authorities.
On Saturday, officer Kraszewski as well as officer Bystrek were patrolling neighbourhoods when they saw the two teens walking in dark clothing and full-face coverings in the area of Wittenborn Dr. in the Society Hill South neighbourhood at about 3 a.m.
Moreover, while the officers kept surveillance of the two individuals, the other officers found various vehicles in the area that appeared to have been entered, one with a window shattered, as per the police officials.
The officers made contact with Cartwright as well as the juvenile on Wittenborn Dr. and conducted an on-scene investigation which revealed that the two were responsible for shattering the window of a vehicle on Sherman Place prior to having contact with the officers, says the police officials.
Along with this, Cartwright shared a false name and was found to be in possession of a Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine during the arrest, as per the authorities.
Cartwright was detained with hindering apprehension, unlawful possession of a gun, possession of a weapon for an illegal purpose, possession of a high capacity magazine, burglary, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of burglar tools and criminal mischief.
In addition, Cartwright was lodged in the Mercer Country Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.
Furthermore, the child was charged with Burglary as well as Criminal Mischief and was released.
