18-year-old detained after fatal shooting death of teenager on subway in Queens

United States: An 18-year-old was apprehended as well as charged in connection with the fatal shooting death of a teenager on the subway in Queens, New York.

Keyondre Russell was charged with the criminal possession of a weapon after 15-year-old Jayjon Burnett was killed on Friday.

The police officials mentioned that a single gunshot rang out on a southbound train just before 3:45 p.m. Friday after a dispute broke out between two groups of teenagers.

Along with this, the neighbour Conchita Finley, “Thank god they caught the guy because he needs to be put away for what he did. He was a baby. He was a child. He didn’t get to live his life yet.”

The neighbours at the family’s building in Far Rockaway are lighting candles. Finley just saw Burnett going to school on Friday morning as well as was devasted for his parents.

Finley mentioned in the statement, “His mother took care of him. His father took care of him. They were always there for him. If he’s not home on time, she goes off.”

Moreover, the older sister of Burnett, Regina Alvarez, lives in Florida, in the United States of America, as well as says their mom is broken.

Alvarez mentioned in the statement, “He was the greatest brother I had. He was more like a son to me. He wanted to move to Florida, United States, after high school. He loved school. Straight A student. Loved school. He was just the most loving brother ever.”

In addition, In spite of the arrest, the police officials still do not have a motive for the shooting that took place as the train pulled into the station.

About two groups of young people seemed to be arguing, which is why police officials say the shooting was probably not random.
