Alaska: Teenager driver dies after pickup truck rolled off a Juneau road into lake

Alaska: The teenage driver of a pickup truck died early on Tuesday morning after police officials mentioned that it rolled off a Juneau road as well as into a lake, in the United States.

The Juneau Police Department mentioned in the statement that two teenage passengers were ejected in the crash. One 19-year-old man walked to a hospital to treat minor injuries, while police officials say they have been unable to locate the other man, an 18-year-old passenger.

Along with this, the police officials highlighted that the driver, 19-year-old Hunter Dayton Fredrick of Juneau, was discovered by rescue divers who responded to the scene.

The department reported that the crash came in just 1 a.m. on Tuesday, when the white Chevrolet pickup lost control along Glacier Highway in Juneau, near Auke Lake. The release declared that Capital City Fire and Rescue members also responded to the scene.

The police officer stated that the pickup flipped several times as well as landed in the lake, where it sank in about 14 feet of water.

The police stated it was believed that the two male passengers were thrown from the truck. The police officials initially said that they were unsure of the whereabouts of any of the three teens.

Glacier Highway was restricted to one lane for about three hours while investigators processed the scene.

In addition, Fredrick’s body will be taken to Anchorage to be assessed by the Alaska State Medical Examiner, as per the police official.
