Russian envoy: India is an important international partner of Russia

In a statement, Denis Alipov, the Russian ambassador to India, said that India would become an even more important partner for Russia. “India’s role as an important international partner for Russia will only grow in the current situation.” Much has been done to strengthen our partnership, but more needs to be done to meet global change needs. In a statement released by the Russian Embassy in India, Denis

Alipov said, “This path is made easier by the wisdom of past generations, who, over a long period, wrote the basis and principles of the relationship into the bilateral legal basis.” The 1993 Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation is a solid foundation. It says that Russia is building ties with India in the interests of the people of both countries, as well as global peace, security, and sustainable development.

Russian envoy Denis Alipov said the treaty signed on January 28, 1993, started a new phase in the relationship between India and Russia. He said the treaty’s principles are why the two countries have always worked well together.

Alipov said it was important for bilateral and international agendas and emphasised that the two countries support the principle of mutual respect, the development of equal and mutually beneficial relationships, and the strengthening of the role of the United Nations while living following its Charter and international law, according to a statement released by the Russian Embassy in India.

Russian Envoy Denis Alipov said that the 1993 treaty was the start of a complete legal framework between the two countries, which now includes about 100 intergovernmental and about 60 interdepartmental documents. He said that agreements between non-state and private sectors are not part of these pacts. Many of these documents add to the unique things that people did in the past.

Alipov said that one of these documents is the India-Russia Strategic Partnership of 2000, which, according to the statement, is one of the first of its kind in the world. Alipov said in the statement that talks between India and Russia continue at different levels, including the annual meeting of leaders.

In September last year, Modi and Putin met in Samarkand on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. He claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic and Russian sanctions had little impact on trade between the two countries. Denis Alipov said that trade between India and Russia went up significantly, and Indian statistics show that it is now worth over USD 30 billion. Getting to these numbers was helped by a 36-fold increase in the amount of imported Russian oil.

India and Russia still do a lot of work together in military technology. According to a statement from the Russian Embassy in India, the production of T-90 tanks, Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jets, AK-203 assault rifles, and other weapons in India meets all the requirements of the government programme “Make in India.”

The Russian envoy said that the joint project to make supersonic cruise missiles called BrahMos is good. Russia and India are still working on all of the agreements they have already made, like the agreement for the supply of S-400 missile systems. India and Russia prioritise working together in space, science, and technology. The two countries continue to work together in quantum and biotechnology, artificial intelligence, basic and applied physics, medical science, and other fields.

Alipov says that strong human relationships are a key part of the multilateral partnership between Russia and India. The Festival of Russian Culture, which will be held in November 2022 in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, is a good example of how popular cultural events are in both countries. He said that the two countries education and university exchange programmes were very important.
