Saint Lucia: Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire shares update on commencement of Grand Hyatt Hotel

Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire, shared the information about the beginning of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Sabwisha, Choiseul. 

He took to his official social media account, “Ernest Hilaire,” and mentioned in the statement, “In preparation for the commencement of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Sabwisha, Choiseul, Invest Saint Lucia will be officially handing over the keys to those residents who have been relocated.”

On July 20, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister, Ernest Hilaire outlined that the Government of Saint Lucia signed a Development Agreement for the construction of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Choiseul.

Moreover, the project was initially conceived in early 2016 but was stalled after the change of the Government in the month of June 2016 for several reasons. 

Dr Ernest Hilaire highlighted that on July 22, 2022, they were finally able to resolve all of the issues as well as eventually clear the way for final preparations to be made for the commencement of construction in early 2023 and completion in early 2025.

Investment is returning to Saint Lucia. After no new hotel construction or major expansion for over five (5) years, work has started on the Cas En Bas Beach Resort and the expansion of Sandals Halycon. More announcements will soon be made. “Look out for the formal Launch of the Community Tourism Programme!!! Putting People First!,” said Ernest Hilaire. 

People across the island of Saint Lucia, Caribbean have extended their greeting to Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Ernest Hilaire, by taking it to the comment section, which reads as, “Keep up the good work! I’m proud of the Government accomplishments that far.”

 

 

Further, one of the individuals stated, “Awesome, love this. Hopefully, Good jobs are coming.”

On the other hand, on January 10, 2023, Dr Ernest Hilaire, also shared an update on the welcome of the Azamara Onward at La Place Carenage for the first time by the staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association, SLASPA and cruise agent. 

The ship captained by Captian Gianmario Sanguineti brought 620 guests to our shores to enjoy Fair Helen.
