Trinidad and Tobago: Six Robbery Suspects Held in Massive CD Exercise

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Following a multi-sectional exercise conducted in the Central Division, six suspects were detained, and three vehicles used in a robbery incident this morning were stopped.

On Friday, July 21, 2023, between 3:10 and 8:30 am, the exercise was carried out with the help of Active Directed Patrols and was overseen by Snr. Supt. Simon, Supt. Ramjohn, Supt. Montrichard, ASP Dipchand, and Insp. Stewart.

Along with those from the Central Division Task Force, Area North, Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department and Charge Room, Longdenville Police Post, Cunupia Police Station, Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch, Central Division Operations Centre, and Air Support Unit, it also included officers from the Central Division Gang Unit, Central Division, and the Central Division Task Force.

Three vehicles were intercepted, six individuals were detained due to strategically deployed officers, and a cordon was held and maintained.

Five guys, aged 20 to 26, from different neighbourhoods, including a 17-year-old Laventille resident, were detained in connection with a robbery report. The matter is still under investigation.

Additionally, on July 18, 2023, during an anti-crime exercise that was performed in the Morvant district earlier this morning, members of the North Eastern Division Task Force were able to confiscate a rifle, a pistol, and a lot of ammunition.

During the drill, which took place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, between 6 and 10 am, officers travelled to Sawmill Avenue in Morvant and searched the neighbourhood. They discovered a loaded pistol with a magazine holding nine rounds of ammo concealed in a trashcan, an AR rifle, and a magazine.
