COVID testing on arrival, 5-day isolation must be mandatory: Dr Fauci

The new COVID variant is spreading at a fast pace in the United States. On Sunday, the chief medical consultant from the White House said a negative test should be mandatory for asymptomatic citizens and the five-day isolation for the people affected by the COVID-19.

COVID testing:

The Center for the Disease Control and Prevention will now make the negative test compulsory, said the chief medical advisor Dr Anthony Fauci. The people are not showing any symptoms, but still, they are testing positive.

Wearing a mask will be necessary, and in the coming five days, a negative test will be required. During an interview, Mr Fauci said that the test’s requirement would let the CDC know that it is imperative or not because there will be an adverse reaction if there is no test. He is expecting more restrictions from the CDC.

The people infected with the virus and if they are not feeling any symptoms such as running nose and fever, then their isolating days will be decreased from 10 to 5 days. Afterwards, if their quarantine days are completed, they must wear a mask for a maximum of 5 days.

The chief medical advisor said, “After the winter vacations, the schools should re-open as the children and students are fully vaccinated. At most schools, the COVID-19 test and the mask will be essential. It is safe for the children to continue the school.”

The diseases expert said that in the United States, COVID cases are increasing vertically, and the average count of the new cases is over 400,000. The percentage of people admitted to the hospital is also heightened.

Fauci said he is worried about the health care system, and the increasing cases are causing a disturbance and stress to the essential services provided by the healthcare department.

As per the information provided by Mr Fauci, 10, 20 and 30% of people from the police department, fire department and from different cities are affected by the infection. This condition is a vital matter to be discussed as it will impact society globally.
