The operation, carried out under a Warrant to Search for Property, unfolded at Marie Therese Street, Gros-Islet. During the search, law enforcement uncovered and seized one assault rifle, along with twenty rounds of 5.56 calibre ammunition. Additionally, a quantity of cannabis was found at the location.

The individuals implicated in the illicit activities were identified as forty-nine-year-old Marvin Joseph, forty-year-old Alisa Dupal, nineteen-year-old Obediah Phillip, and an unnamed female juvenile—all residents of Marie Therese Street, Gros-Islet.

The quartet was promptly arrested on charges of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. Marvin Joseph faced an additional charge for the Possession of a Controlled Drug.

The severity of the charges reflects the gravity of the situation and underscores law enforcement’s commitment to tackling criminal elements in the region.

Following their arrest, the accused were brought before the Magistrate’s Court, where they were granted bail under specific terms and conditions.

Obediah Phillip, Alisa Dupal, and the female juvenile each received bail set at seven thousand five hundred dollars (XCD7,500.00), also requiring cash, land documents, or a suitable surety.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force emphasizes its unwavering dedication to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of the community.

The successful operation reflects the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal weapons and substances.

In a statement, the RSLPF urged the public to collaborate in the fight against crime by providing valuable information through channels like the Crime Hotline (555) or the RSLPF Crime Hotline Application.

Cooperation between citizens and the police is crucial to maintaining a secure environment, and the RSLPF remains committed to fostering this partnership.

As the legal proceedings progress, the community watches closely, hopeful that these arrests mark a significant stride in curbing criminal activities and reinforcing the message that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated on the streets of Saint Lucia.
