In Florida, a man has been shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy as he broke a beer a bottle on his head, but the officer heard the sound of the gunshot, and he thought that the 27-year-old had killed one of his deputies.
As per the information provided by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, this incident took place on 26 February, Saturday, all of the deputies were making an attempt to arrest the 27-year-old. He was standing at a sunroof of the pickup truck and was holding a rifle in one hand and a bottle of Busch Light beer in the other.
Afterwards, the police officer was behind the man, he was not able to see the beer bottle in his hand, then he heard a sound, which was like a “Popping noise”, and he thought the 27-year-old shot at his deputies, then he pointed at the man with his gun and shot at his neck.
After this incident took place later, the man was transported to the hospital as he was wounded and said that it was not life-threatening and no one else was injured at that moment.
According to the details shared by the officials, the man was with the female friend, both of them stole a pickup Toyota truck which was of red colour from the parking of the supermarket in Winter Haven.
They both visited a tire store, and from one of their employees he asked for money, and when he said that there was no money then the 27-year-old pointed out a rifle at him, they started looking for the money, but they left after a customer arrived, say the officials.
The Deputies started finding the couple and discovered the red pickup truck. Additionally, they used stop barriers, but they failed in doing that. Later they hit a deputy with the truck.
As per the statement made by the sheriff’s office, “He then dropped from the sunroof out of sight for a moment, then stood up with a rifle in one hand, and a Busch Light beer bottle in the other, which he smashed against his forehead, breaking the bottle.”
