North Carolina: Triple murder of a family discovered in bathtub in 1972, solved after 50 yrs

In North Carolina, in 1972, there was a killing attempted in the remote area of Boone, N.C, where the corpse of three families was discovered in the bathtub at the time of the snowstorm. It has been solved now after 50 years.

Moreover, it was a triple murder case of Bryce, Virginia and Bobby Durham. This case came into existence as the son of a former inmate from Georgia looked back on his father’s past experiences to the local sheriff office.

Moreover, 1972, 3rd February, the mother, father and son were found lifeless during the time of snowstorm, and this case made everyone stunned in the locality and later was named as “Durham Case.”

The son found them both in the law of the couple, and he went there to check on them if they were ok with the help of their neighbour.

As per the information provided by the sources, their dead bodies were in the bathtub, and their home was in the condition of confusion.

The lady was killed by getting strangled, and the son and the father were drowned in the water. For 50 years, this story remained a mystery as no information was gathered related to the case.

Afterwards, after five decades, it has been recognised that the criminals were Billy Sunday Birt, Bobby Gene Gaddis, Charles David Reed and Billy Wayne Davis, as per the details provided by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office. Birt, Gaddis and Reed are all dead.

The 81-year-old Davis has considered being the only one who has survived and is behind bars in Augusta, Georgia.

Meanwhile, all four people have been part of the Georgia-based Dixie Mafia. This organisation is said to be involved in various violent crimes in Georgia all over the Southeast in the 1960s and the 1970s.
