In Pennsylvania, a mother and a daughter in Audubon mentioned that they have not heard from the father of their family because he is involved in the war zone in Ukraine.
On 27 February, Sunday, the man’s wife named Olga Korotchuk and before she headed towards the Ukraine rally in Philadelphia, “It is very hard. I am very worried for my husband, for my family.”
Moreover, Korotchuk’s daughter Olena Dart mentioned it had been more than 24 hours since she and her mother had not talked and heard anything from her father in Ukraine.
In the current situation in Ukraine, every minute feels like a day.
Along with this, Korotchuk stated, “Today, probably the internet is not working, so we have no contact with him.” Her father, named Yurri Korotchuk, was in Kyiv before running to a village nearby for protection.
In Ukraine, it has been mentioned that he was compelled to leave the place without the documents, including food and had limited medication during the immediate evacuation.
The little girl mentioned, “He said he’s not going to leave his dog and his cat, so he’s there, and it’s very heartbreaking for us, and I’m sure for a lot of people because no one believed that something like that could happen in the 21st century.”
All of the three family members live in Audubon, but they were born in Ukraine.
Their loved ones have shredded the details about the current situation of their country’s ongoing conflict with Russia.
“It’s heartbreaking to hear her screaming, ‘I don’t want to die every time the bombing is going off. And it is terrifying. I can not even imagine how they feel there,” dart stated.
Both the mother and daughter mentioned that if it would be necessary, her 63-year-old father would also fight against his nation.
His wife mentioned, “I’m hoping that everything will be good in Ukraine because Ukrainian people are powerful, and they’re fighting even with empty hands. I think we’re going to stand up, and everything will be good. I hope for that.”
