Two Virginia universities ends mandatory vaccine protocol

In Virginia, on Monday, the tech and the George Mason University has declared that they are reducing the requirement of the Covid-19 vaccination for the children in the face-to-face classes.

In the previous week, the state Attorney General Jason Miyares issued the legal statement during an inaugural celebration on January 15 2022. The state universities and colleges cannot mandate the vaccination against the COVID-19 for children.

The Attorney General of Virginia, Jason Miyares, released an opinion on Friday it mentioned that the state universities and the college should not need the COVID-19 vaccination for the children until the commonwealth’s legislature has included the need for immunizations for the higher education institutions.

Moreover, both the Virginia state universities vigorously motivate the children to get the Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. The maximum nummber of the students have already been fully vaccinated against the infection.

The mason president Gregory Washington said in a statement in a message to the community of the university, “High vaccination rates have been provided, and the decreasing trend of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 has been noticed. With the current administrative orders by the government and the directives as well as the recent Attorney General’s opinion, we will now vigorously boost-up vaccination protocols for all the students, staff, faculty from Mason despite the fact that we don’t need them.”

According to the University, the vaccinated percentage of Mason’s campus community is approximately 93 percent inoculated. It does not involve any information about how many of the people have received booster jabs.

There has been an announcement made by Washington, the objective if the university has highlighted the need for facial masks by the date of March 4 if the positivity rate of the test stays below 4 percent till then.

In the statement, Washington has stated, “The idea of personal freedom has been understood, but on the other hand, we should also understand the requirement of the collective responsibility. If we can do something it doesn’t mean that we should.”
