California couple charged in death of 6-year-old boy

California, USA– A 6-year-boy was shot to death by a couple on a freeway at the time of the road rage incident, as per the information shared by the prosecutors on Wednesday, March 30.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office mentioned in a statement that both the individuals were known as Marcus Anthony Eriz, 25-year-old as well as 23-year-old named Wynne Lee from Costa Mesa, are believed to be indicted on April 12 in connection with the death of the 6-year-boy, Aiden Leos.

Moreover, the 25-year-old has been charged with one of the felony counts related to the killings, shooting into the vehicle that was occupied, and enhancements of a firearm’s personal discharge, causing significant bodily harm as well as death.

Currently, he is behind bars in the Orange County jail without bail.

Along with this, Lee suffers from the charges of felony accessory after the fact and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. She was discharged on electric monitoring. They both have not been pleaded guilty.

The 25-year-old and 23-year-old were detained following a days-long search and a $500,000 reward after Leos was shot to death while sitting in a booster seat in the back of his mother’s car as they were traveling on State Route 55 to drop him at the kindergarten.

The mother of the 6-year-old named Joanna Cloonan mentioned that she made a hand gesture at the suspects after they cut her off. At that time, Eriz allegedly shot the boy, and he died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Bokosky mentioned, “He then rolled [down] the passenger window and took a shot at her vehicle. After shooting the victim, [Eriz and Lee] continued on to the 91 eastbound and on to work in the city of Highland.”

On Wednesday, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer stated, “A man with a gun killed a 6-year-old boy on his way to kindergarten – as he was cut off on the freeway. The callousness of this crime is indescribable, but the fact that this couple carries on to hide out in plain sight, knowing well they murdered a little child. At the same time, Aiden’s grieving parents pleaded with the murdered to come forward is [unforgivable].”
