According to Chicago Police, the guy was slain by a gunshot only steps from Wrigley Field on Sunday night.
When bullets were fired at 10:15 p.m., the 47-year-old victim was in an alley in the 3400-block of North Clark Street, according to police.
He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in severe condition with gunshot wounds to the chest and armpit area by the Chicago Fire Department, where he eventually died.
Hermilo Beltran, a father of two school-aged kids, was the victim, according to his family. He was a dedicated worker, according to his widow, who was on his way to another job at Happy Camper Pizza as a custodian . She said that authorities told her that he was slain in a botched robbery.
