Parents condemn North Carolina school after her son, fellow black students “sold” at mock slave auction

In North Carolina, in the K-8 J.S. Waters School in Goldston, near Raleigh, children organized a slave auction in which they sold off their black fellow students.

As per the reports, one of the parents named Ashley Palmer of the black student condemned the North Carolina school after her son and his fellow black students were getting sold at a mock “slave auction”.

Moreover, Palmer issued a complaint on Facebook about the shocking incident at the School in Goldston, in which there are around 15 students, and 68 percent of them are white, and the rest of them are black, says the report.

Along with this, Palmer is a white lady, and she mentioned on March 4, “Our son experienced a slave auction by his classmates, and when he opened up, we were made aware that this type of stuff seems to be the norm so much that he didn’t think it was worth sharing.”

However, she highlighted, “His friend ‘went for $350’, & another child was the Slavemaster because he ‘knew how to hold them. We even have a videotape of students harmonizing the N-word. Since when were children so blatantly racist? Why is this culture acceptable?”

Palmer further added, “Parents teach your kids that this behaviour isn’t OK to Teach them also that SILENCE IS COMPLICITY! Laughter is even worse!”

Meanwhile, on Monday, Chatham Organizing, a group for the Racial Equity, stated that the auction involved the middle school students and appeared “in the presence of staff and faculty, and while being filmed.”

On Monday, Chatham County Schools Superintendent named Anthony Jackson expressed regret over this incident and ordered sudden action to stop such activities all over the place from occurring again.

Furthermore, Jackson asserted, “I want to offer an apology … to every single student who has ever felt unsafe while in our care, to every student who has ever felt demeaned, disrespected or marginalized because of their race, ethnicity, sex, gender, religion or disability.”
