Washington:14-year-old charged for attempting assault by putting belt over teacher’s neck in class

In Washington, a 14-year-old, state kid was charged with attempted assault after putting his belt over his teacher’s neck during class.

According to police and prosecutors, on March 2, the incident took place between the teenager and his physical education teacher at the Bethel High School in Spanaway.

Along with this, the teacher mentioned that the youngster approached her from behind. He put his belt around her neck as well as pulled her back. As per the report, the teacher grabbed the belt as well as turned to see the boy standing nearby.

As per the affidavit, she questioned the student why he would do such a thing to her, and “all he responded was sorry.”

The affidavit said the instructor was terrified and went to her office to ask for assistance.

Moreover, according to the affidavit, the instructor was “visibly shaken up with red eyes and continued sobbing on and off” when she was reached by Pierce County sheriff’s detectives.

Deputies were told by the instructor that she did not believe her airway was constricted or that her breathing was restricted. It’s unclear if she was hurt seriously.

However, the student mentioned to the police, “I was being dumb taking my belt and messing with the gym teacher by putting it over her head and pulling it back up.”

On the other hand, Deputies also spoke with a student who said that the student had asked him and his companions if he should use the belt on the teacher prior to the attack. According to the affidavit, when asked why he did it, the kid responded, “It was a joke.”

Meanwhile, the affidavit mentioned the video of the incident was consistent with the teacher’s statement.

Furthermore, the boy was under arrest, charged with second-degree attempted assault, and booked into Remann Hall, the county’s juvenile facility mentioned Adam Faber of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
