75-year-old Sikh man attacked in Queens while he was walking to Gurudwara

New York City, USA– The 75-year-old victim named Nirmal Singh was attacked as he was walking toward the Sikh Cultural Society (Gurdwara Sahib ‘Sikh Temple’) in Queens at about 7 am. He has been seriously injured in the nose on Sunday.

As per the sources, the identified man Nirmal Singh has, for the first time, come to the United States from Canada about two weeks ago to see the nation.

The 75-year-old was walking on 95th Avenue as well as Lefferts Blvd. on Sunday morning in the Queen’s Richmond Hill location. At the time when the happening took place, the man was attacked from behind by the miscreants on his face, and it caused him to fall to the ground.

Moreover, Nirmal Singh was bleeding in severe pain. As per the cops, the man who attacked him took this step without even saying any word after he escaped.

Some of the local individuals’ citizens witnessed Singh sitting with bloodstains on his clothes as well as on his face on a bench, and they captured his photographs in that condition.

The police officials took the man to the nearby hospital for evaluation. The doctors identified that his nose had been broken during the incident, and there were severe bruises on his body.

Additionally, Nirmal Singh spoke to the media in his native language, Punjab, while he was still wearing his bloodied jacket.

He shared the information with the media that the suspect attacked him from behind. He added that he had only been in the nation for about two weeks on a visitor visa.

The observer Gurinder Singh said to the police officials that he saw when the incident occurred.

The chairman of the Sikh Cultural named, Harpreet Singh Toor mentioned during an interview that “He was just walking and a man came from behind and hit him on the face.”

On Twitter, the Sikh Coalition mentioned the whole situation, and they tweeted, “The Sikh Coalition is aware of the reported assault on an elderly Sikh man in Queens, New York, this morning. We are working quickly to engage the Richmond Hill Sangat to learn more facts and details and assess what resources and support could be useful.”

Further, the Borough President of Queens named, Donovan Richards, mentioned on his Twitter account, “My office is also aware of this incident in #RichmondHill earlier today. Our thoughts are with him, and we wish for nothing less than a full recovery.”
