Philadelphia police launches probe into shooting, that injured mother & young child

Philadelphia, USA– The police officials are investigating a shooting that has wounded a mother as well as her young child inside a residence on Thursday night.

As per the sources, the incident occurred at about 8:36 p.m. inside the apartment on the 1800 block of E. Venango Street.

Moreover, police officials mentioned in the statement that a 28-year-old mother, as well as a five-year-old son, were both shot while lying in bed.

According to the sources, there was an interview held with the mother who has said that she was shot in her upper thigh as well as a similar bullet then hit her son’s arm.

She mentioned that the bullet is stuck in her son’s elbow as well as he will have to undergo surgery.

The Philadelphia Chief Inspector named Scott Small asserted, “There’s a bed in the living room right under the window. We know one bullet went through the lower part of the window frame and into the house.”

Along with this, the police stated that the silver sedan was travelling eastbound on Venango Street when a gunman in the passenger’s seat fired at least 21 gunshots, hitting several homes on the block.

Small said, a house next door to the mother as well as the son was struck three times by the gunfire, but there was no injury. “The bullets went via the living room window and lodged in the ceiling and the walls. There was a family — adults as well as juveniles — that were in the house at the time.”

Many of the neighbors expressed that the area is hazardous as well as want more police patrols.

The neighbor Victor Delgado of Kensington mentioned, “You might swallow a bullet without warning, and a stray bullet doesn’t have a name. It’ll come at you from any distance, a roof, a car, under a car. It will come anywhere they can shoot you from.”
