US no longer under COVID-19 phase, says Fauci

The chief medical advisor of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, named Dr Anthony Fauci, shared the information that America is out of the COVID-19 pandemic phase as well as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and the Infectious Diseases.

On Tuesday, April 26, Fauci mentioned in the statement, “We are certainly, right now, in this country, out of the pandemic phase.”

He stated, “Namely, we do not have 900,000 new infections a day & tens & tens & tens of thousands of hospitalizations & thousands of deaths. We are at a low level currently. So, if you’re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country? We are.”

Moreover, the cases of the COVID-19 in the US have fallen down dramatically over the previous months as the Omicron wave moved back.

The everyday cases are still two times higher than they were for most of the previous summer.

Along with this, some individuals are dying by getting affected by the COVID-19 infection than during the most of the Pandemic, but with over 400 deaths a day, the past two months of COVID-19 have been more deadly than most recent flu seasons.

Currently, the local health officials on the ground all over the United States of America are working to vaccinate more individuals as possible and booster against the variant of the COVID-19 infection.

Fauci said, “Pandemic means a widespread infection that spreads rapidly among people throughout the world. So, if you look at the global situation, there is no doubt this Pandemic is still ongoing.”

As the cases of COVID infection are decreasing, the health officials are able to focus on the areas such as maternal health, childhood immunizations, tuberculosis, HIV, as well as other public health concerns.

In addition, Lori Tremmel Freeman, chief executive officer of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, “I think subtle shifts are being made at the local level health departments to normalize the pandemic response in a way that allows them to get back to the core work of their public health departments. But those words that were used about the pandemic ends are not well circulated in the public health area right now.”
