Florida: Teens breaks in $8 million house for wild party; shares pictures, videos on social media

United States: Some of the Florida teens break into $8 Million home for a wild party, and then they share the pictures and videos on social media.

The authorities in Florida are giving teens and young adults a chance to “come clean” after they broke into an $8 million home, throwing a wild house party and posting videos on social media showing the rowdy scene.

The Walton County Sheriff’s mentioned in the statement that the deputies were called early on Saturday to a home on Blackwater Street in the unincorporated master-planned Watercolour community, near Seaside, for a noise complaint.

When the deputies arrived, the majority of the party goers had left the scene, but the video circulating on Snapchat, Instagram as well as other social media platforms informed to the law enforcement how the teenagers had set up a boxing match. Most of the partygoers recorded large crowds blaring music and downing alcohol.

Moreover, in a Facebook post on Monday, the sheriff’s office stated, “An open house party is against the law,” sharing videos of the party highlights. “An open house party in a house you break into is a burglary.”

The authorities expressed how homeowners gave no permission to the party as well as seemingly had no link to the young people who took it upon themselves to break in and throw the massive party.

Along with this, the sheriff’s office noted, “Apart from the damage caused and the items stolen, it’s a complete violation of someone’s home that you can’t put a price on. The feeling when you know someone went into your closet, tried on your clothes, and used your bathroom doesn’t have a dollar amount attached to it. Especially in a place where you’re supposed to feel safe.”

The sheriff’s office alerted that Snapchat is not private and can be subpoenaed. The post included several images taken from Snapchat showing a large crowd smiling for pictures with drinks in hand. One photo showed a male taking a selfie wearing a handful of gold rings he found in the home.
