Roger Federer hopes for comeback after recovering from injury

Roger Federer, a Tennis superstar, who has recently taken a year out from playing any competition as he comes back from an injury, has said that he is hoping to be back on the world tour in the coming year if his recovery continues to progress.

While replying to one of the questions about whether he plans to continue playing competitive tennis next year, Roger Federer stated, “I don’t know the exact details, but that would be the idea.”

Moreover, before returning to competitions, Federer, who turns 41 in August, will require to undergo a third operation on his right knee.

The former World Number 1 has 20 Grand Slams to his name but has been absent from competitive tennis since Wimbledon 2021.

He further mentioned, “I myself a curious to see what will follow. But I am hopeful. I have already gone a long way. I am not far off. The next three or four months will be extremely important.”

Along with this, as per the sources, he has been focusing now on his physical condition, going to the gym five to six times a week, and that tenis would still have to “Wait a bit.”

In addition, Federer hopes to get back on the court in time for the Laver Cup in London, to be held from 23 to 25 September. After that, he is planning to be in his hometown for the Basle Tournament from 24 to 30 October.

Furthermore, the Swiss champion, winner of 103 trophies in his career spanning more than 20 years, only played six matches in 2020 and 13 in 2021.

He is now ranked 50th in the world.
