President Biden Denounces the killings of the four Muslim men in Albuquerque

United States: President of the US, Joe Biden, condemned the killings of four Muslim men in New Mexico state that police say may be connected and were suspected of being a hate crime.

The president said in a tweet that he posted on Sunday, August 7, that He was enraged and hurt by the horrific killings of the four Muslim men in Albuquerque.

In a subsequent tweet, POTUS added that while they wait for the investigation to complete, his prayers are with the victims’ families. He said that the state and its administration stand firmly with the Muslim community. He also noted that These hateful attacks have no place in America.”

The Police of Albuquerque stated on Sunday that investigations for the murders of three Muslim men are ongoing. Additionally, they suspected that these murders were related to a fourth homicide from last year.

Police could not identify the man in question but ascertained that he was in his mid-20s, Muslim by religion and “a native from South Asia”.

“Investigators believe that Friday’s murder could be connected to three recent murders of Muslim men from South Asia. The two victims, as mentioned earlier, were Pakistani Muslim men.

The police encouraged anyone with details relating to the case to call a tip line and confirmed that the FBI was assisting with the investigation.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham expressed anger at the killings, terming them “wholly intolerable”, and said she would send further state police officers to Albuquerque to investigate the incident.

She assured that they would continue to do everything they could to support the Muslim community of Albuquerque and greater New Mexico.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has proposed a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the killer or the arrest of the killer.

Tahir Gauba, the director of public affairs with the Islamic Center of New Mexico, told the Albuquerque Journal that tensions are high in the Muslim community and that the people are beginning to panic.
