United States: A CPS worker from Texas in Houston was fired after he encouraged a 14-year-old girl to try to work as a sex worker to earn money, which was captured in a video.
A CPS worker in Houston was caught saying on the video to the teen in their custody, “The right man, he’d be broke f—— with me,”
According to her mother- Keisha Bazley, the young girl in CPS custody was staying in a hotel. At the time of the recording of the teen, the employee was asking the worker for some food.
The teen asked the question that “Can you get me something to eat, please?”
The employee responded to the question, “You know there ain’t no food in there?”
“That’s how my mama taught me… you want to be a ‘ho,’ be a real ‘ho’… he’ll feed you, and how much money you got in your pocket? Yeah, that’s how you ‘ho.'”
Along with this, she appeared to be encouraging the girl to consider sex work.
She appeared to be encouraging the girl to look for sex work as a profession.
Bazley raised the question, “How could y’all let this happen to my daughter?”
“Do y’all not know what y’all did? To my family?”
Bazley is shocked, as she mentioned that she asked CPS to temporarily take custody of her daughter to help with behaviour issues like running away.
Bazley mentioned in the statement, “It shouldn’t happen, especially by somebody that’s supposed to protect them.”
Furthermore, CPS outlines that the employee was fired on August 10.
