United States: A man from Florida was apprehended on Saturday after a father reported he repeatedly catcalled his daughter as well as harassed neighbours over a period of several months.
According to a Facebook post on the Volusia Sheriff’s Office page, Mark Greenburg, 55-year-old, was apprehended in Deltona, Florida on a warrant for aggravated stalking. In addition, the deputies requested the warrant after the girl’s father said that Greenburg approached his driveway and made a number of unsettling statements to her while she played outdoors.
Deputies also stated in the statement that there were “words to the effect of ‘I’m going to make you famous”.
“I am going to turn you into a woman or a big girl,'” according to the police officials.
According to many witnesses who purportedly supported the account, Greenburg allegedly stated he was “going to pick her up and take her to Disney World.”
The sheriff’s office noted, “The arrest followed a series of complaints from close to a dozen witnesses who have reported his behaviour, including at least 11 incidents reported to the Sheriff’s Office over the past eight months.”
They asserted these alleged incidents include Greenburg yelling at his neighbours with a megaphone and filming their children playing outside.
Furthermore, the father reportedly shared the information with the deputies that the alleged harassment was getting progressively worse and that his daughter was not afraid to go outside.
The family expressed that they suspect Greenburg followed the child to her grandmother’s house, where he allegedly parked outside twice in two days as well as took photos.
