Ohio, United States: Criminal charges have been filed against a Cincinnati, Ohio woman after her 6-week-old child died while sleeping, this is the second time she has lost her child while co-sleeping, according to the report.Â
As per the sources, Brooke Hunter was indicted on Wednesday on the charges of involuntary manslaughter as well as endangering children. An arrest warrant was issued for Hunter’s arrest.Â
Along with this, the reports mentioned that Hunter lost an infant in the previous year while sleeping. A police official with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office shared the information that Hunder was warned about the risks of sharing a bed with her infant after her first child died.Â
In addition, the American Academy of Pediatrics advises parents against sharing a bed with an infant six months old or younger, instead saying the child should sleep in the same room with the parents on a different surface.Â
Furthermore, the American Academy of Pediatrics mentioned in the statement that about 3,500 infants die of sleep-related deaths, including sudden infant death syndrome-SIDS, every year in the United States of America.Â
