In Colorado, a well-known plastic surgeon, also a medical specialist who administers anesthetist is going through criminal charges because of the breast augmentation surgery of a woman named Emmalyn Nguyen, an 18-year-old who has been died by the process.
Moreover, the 18-year-old died in November 2020, and the doctor was involved in the surgery in 2019.
As per the court records, Dr Geoffrey Kim faces charges with irresponsible killing, which is a felony, 1st degree aggravated assault, which is also a felony.
On Wednesday, Kim surrendered himself to the officials and was later released by paying the bond of around $5,000, mentioned in the report.
Additionally, on August 1, 2019, Nguyen underwent surgery at Dr Geoffrey Kim’s Colorado Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery in Greenwood Village.
Along with this, after she received anesthesia, she suffered from a maximum of two cardiac arrests and was ended up with brain damage.
David Woodruff, Nguyen’s family attorney, has mentioned that the nurse named Rex Meeker has not attended the 18-year-old patient after administering the anesthesia for almost 15 minutes. It has been said that Meeker is equally responsible for it, the same that took place in 2007.
The doctor, who has been reviving Nguyen after her first cardiac arrest, made her family members think that everything was alright.
During an interview, Nguyen’s mother, Lynn Fam, said, “He said everything is fine, Emmalyn is fine, everything is good. She’s young, and she is healthy. She will be okay. It is just taking her long to wake up.”
Furthermore, in October 2020, as per the death of Nguyen was in a vegetative state and showed no sign of awareness.
She had been suffering from pneumonia since she was in a nursing home and faced multiple cardiac arrests for the duration of 24 hours.
