Chicago toddler shot to dead in road-rage incident

United States: A toddler boy was shot and killed in a road-rage incident in Chicago, as per the police officials.

All that remains of the terrifying happening that left the child Mateo Zastro dead in shattered glass.

The Chicago Police Department mentioned in the statement that the boy was riding in the car with his mother as well as three siblings on Friday night when it all unfolded. They stated that she was attempting to escape the other vehicle in the road rage incident.

As per the police officials, she made it two blocks away, but she, unfortunately, did not make it far, was tracked down, as well as the shots were fired.

The police noted that someone in the backseat of a red Sedan took aim at the mother’s car, as well as a bullet struck Mateo in the head. A nearby house was also riddled with bullets.

The mother kept driving, as per the authorities, as well as Mateo, was transported to a hospital where he died.

A community activist, Andrew Holmes, said the mother is still grieving.

He said, “All she is doing is clutching onto two dinosaurs, and this was the baby’s favourite toy.”

In addition, he stated community members are trying to get “these baby killers” off the streets.

Holmes expressed while referring to the shooter, “There was no tint on that window. You have seen those children inside of that car, and you still discharged that weapon.”

“We are out here trying to combat this violence, trying to help people get their neighbourhoods back.”

The police officials are now vowing to make sure the murderer of the boy is held accountable.

With the Chicago Police Department, commander Bryan Spreyne declared in the statement, “We will not rest until those responsible for this senseless as well as a cowardly act of violence are brought to justice.”
