Virginia: Fire ravages chemistry class of high school, three hospitalized

United States: A chemistry class fire hospitalised three high school pupils and one instructor, according to Virginia officials.

According to a press release from Dinwiddie County Fire & EMS, it happened early on October 12 during a chemistry lesson at Dinwiddie High School.

The school resource officer, the fire alarm system, and staff phone calls, according to officials, alerted them.

According to the press statement, pupils had already been evacuated, and the classroom fire had been extinguished before the fire, and EMS personnel arrived at the school. According to Dinwiddie County Public Schools, the school lets out kids early at 11:15 a.m.

According to emergency officials, they found three pupils with burn wounds. After receiving medical attention from EMS, all three students were sent to Richmond, Virginia’s Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

According to authorities, one pupil was flown, as well as two students were transferred by ambulance.

According to the announcement, as officials were still examining the site, they discovered a fourth kid who had burn wounds.

With just minor burn injuries, the pupil was attended to on the spot and then released. According to school authorities, a teacher was also sent to a hospital for treatment. There have been no updates regarding the health of the teachers or pupils.

The State Incident Marshal’s Office and the Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office are working together to identify the cause of the fire, according to Fire & EMS.

Richmond is 45 miles to the southwest of Dinwiddie County.
